So after looking at several of the different pledges our GOP candidates and other politicians have too sign. As well as how most are saying there is nothing to worry about with the debt ceiling. I felt like i just had to put in my two cents. In a recent paper i wrote for one of my classes goes: : Is the Idea of social contracts leading to the different pledges our politicians have to sign to prove their loyalties to ideals? Part 5 In the most recent video I did, I pose this very question. I came to this conclusion after looking at Grover Norquist bullying our GOP politicians into signing a pledge to never raise taxes. To the Susan B pledge that shackles our politicians to subject themselves to the stringent demands of their pledge. One of which is that anyone that signs this petition shall never allow a pro choice person to hold any position of authority in their organization. On page 201 of History of philosophy reads: "As if every mans should say to everyman, I authorize and give up my right of governing myself, to this man, or to this assembly of men, on this conditio0n, that you give up your right to hm, and authorize all his action in like manner" When the everyday citizen votes for a politician we hand to them the sacred bond and respect we give to those that are to lead. We say to them, that they embody our ideals and thoughts. Our unhampered prayers and ideals reside in their words and action.
